A 1,000 Mile Journey

This past Sunday I had the opportunity to participate in an amazing awareness event in Madison.  The Rainbird Foundation ( held their annual “1,000 Mile Journey.”  This event is a family oriented 1-mile walk around the state capitol building with 1,000 or more people taking a stand for the end of child abuse.  This event is an educational opportunity, an occasion to generate media coverage for the end of child abuse, and an opportunity to develop partnerships with other non-profits throughout Wisconsin.

I was fortunate to speak at this incredible event about how we as a community can work together to realize Rainbird’s vision.  I asked the citizens of Madison to stand up and speak out; to become the active bystander that we all so desperately need.  (here’s me ” taking a stand” on a foot stool…a foot stool that undoubtedly regrets ever meeting me)

After our inspiring walk around the capital, I had the opportunity to meet up with Walk Director, Elisabeth Norton for a short interview.  As you can see from the video below, she is incredibly passionate about her work and is deeply committed to her vision of a society free of child abuse.

  1. Thank you for your partnership, Josh.

  2. Awe, If I would have known I would have been there! Any way you could let us know about these events though email?

  3. Thank you, Hanna!

Brandee- It would have been great to see you. I think you have a great idea about an email blast for people interested about our upcoming events. I hope all is well with you.
